The Cannabis Conversations: Part II with Anna Lembke MD
As public acceptance of cannabis has increased, so has the use of it, but it’s not all good. As the use of cannabis has increased, so has the misuse of cannabis. As with any other psychoactive chemical, the misuse of cannabis can lead to a variety of harmful effects: psychosis, dependence, tolerance, and in a subset of vulnerable individuals, even addiction.
In Part II of the “Cannabis Conversations,” mental health and addiction expert, Dr. Anna Lembke, joins the podcast to talk about the use and misuse of cannabis in vulnerable populations, the increased addictive potential of today’s cannabis, and the increasing use of cannabis in the treatment of opioid addiction. We also discuss the growing debilitating problem among chronic heavy cannabis users: Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome.
